Treasure Trade

I watched the man pull out the diamonds from his pocket...give them one last quick look...then hand them to the merchant man.

The merchant, big smile on his face, in return handed the man a sack full of deadly serpents...telling him to handle them gently [winking as he did so].

The merchant walked away...laughing loudly...and the man stood there wondering what to do first with his newly acquired treasure.

The above story happens everyday...may God give us true discernment to prevent it happening in our lives.

We live in a culture where money reigns supreme...we live at a level of wealth that only kings of other generations knew of.

Don't let the merchant man take your true treasure...giving you in exchange a bag full of death.

Don't listen to the merchants words only...read carefully his life.

Many men "say" that God is number 1 in their lives...church is number 1, family is number 1 and yet when you watch these men's lives carefully [not for a few weeks or months...but for years] you will notice that they quickly trade God, church and family for the fleeting riches that this world offers them.

They throw away their marriage for money. They throw away their relationship with their children for money...and there are times when they actually throw away their soul...so they can enjoy money's short term pay off here and now.

What a poor trade.
