Happiness

Adolf Hitler said that if you say something loud enough and long enough you can make the multitudes believe that heaven is hell and hell is heaven.

This is seen very clearly in the American Dream.

We are told that true happiness and wholeness is from having lots of "stuff".

The more you have...the happier you'll be.

People still follow this Nightmare, even though all the evidence points away from its truth claims.

People will pursue their "stuff" to the destruction of their health, marriages, and even their eternal souls.

If you ever want a small clue on whether the American Dream is true or not just watch people who believe it and live by it.

I have seen people who lived for the American Dream.

I have seen them get sick [terminally sick].

And I have watched as their eyes were opened. When they realized that they were going to leave this world...they also realized that the American Dream was a big lie.

True happiness and success are found in "seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness".

Amen, Dale. In our day and age, materialism is the most propagandized concept, and Christians need to decide what is right. Adverts, or Bible study? Which will it be?

GK Chesterton said, "Materialists and madmen never have doubts."

By implication, materialsts ARE madmen.

You are absolutely right - it is finding our joy in God that will truly make us happy - for all that we have on this Earth is merely borrowed from Him. That plasma screen TV isn't going with you to eternal life...

Great blog! I will be back!
