Look At The Hands Of The Gift Giver

We are told that every good gift, every perfect gift comes to us from our Father's hands.

We are also told that there is only One mediator between God and man, the Lord Jesus Christ.

This means that absolutely every gift we receive comes to us from our Father's hands, but it doesn't come directly from the Father to us...the Father passes it to His Only Beloved Son, and then the Lord Jesus Christ passes it to us.

This means that whenever you enjoy any happiness, beauty or joy in your life it is only because the Lord Jesus Christ went to the cross to deal with sin, suffering and death...on our behalf.

This means that every good gift is passed to us with scar pierced hands.

God created the world and passed it to man as a gift, man fumbled the ball, plunging the world into darkness, and the 'Light of the world' bent down and picked up the ball that Adam dropped.

He picked it up with hands of love.
Hands that will forever declare their love for us.
Hands that will forever display the holes of cross.

But don't look for Him on the cross...He's not there.
The cross is a sign of death, but death had no hold on the Lord Jesus Christ...He confronted death and swallowed it up.

He arose from the grave...and gives this same hope to us...His followers.

If you are ever feeling depressed and down...I have a pill for your cures...its called the Gospill.

Look to Jesus, look to His cross and empty tomb, look to Him at the right hand of the Majesty on High.

Why did He do it?

Because He loves you.

If that doesn't encourage you...what will?

In or On?

I heard a man speak this week and one of the things he said was some real food for thought.

Don't just read the following saying and then move on. Take time and meditate on it. Chew on its truth and begin to apply it to your life.

"We sometimes get so busy working "in" our lives that we never take the time to work "on" our lives. We are so busy doing the things in our lives that we never take time to stop and ask ourselves if these things are profitable for Christ's kingdom."

May we take some time and work "on" our lives.

Pass The Hair Spray

Some people's view of Jesus is just not biblical.

Jesus the long feather haired, tea sipper.

Jesus had a soft voice and always spoke in gentle tones...like a woman.

He was always nice...never wanted to stir the waters.

In todays world where men try to be like women its no wonder we want a feminine Jesus.

Just try and imagine Jesus waking up one morning...feathering back his long hair...holding it in place with his new 'firm' hair spray, plucking his eye brows, waxing his chest, putting a little chap stick on his lips [that Palestine sun can be murder], a little hand softening lotion on his sun weathered hands. Then picking up his pink feather duster.

"where are you off to Jesus?", we ask

"I am going to cleanse to the temple...I'll begin with dusting", he softly replies.

Makes you cringe doesn't it.

Jesus was a man! He was tough, He was courageous. Where does it say he had long hair? He was a carpenter...he was strong, rugged. He is the greatest hero of all history, the greatest warrior of all time!

Jesus stood against the world, for the world, and overcame the world!

He spoke gentle words when they were needed and He spoke strong words when they were needed.
He wasn't afraid of confrontation.
Jesus didn't bend the knee to the status quo, IF, the status quo went against the Word of God.

And as for the feather duster?

Hah!

Imagine what many Christians would say of Jesus if they saw Him with His whip in the temple, driving out all things that were unclean [that everyone else thought were acceptable].

That Jesus needs to get right with God, He needs to act a little more like a Christian...but what they really mean is that Jesus needs to act more like them...more like a girly.

Jesus, the man, fixed His eye on the cross and did not let the pains of death and hell fire deter Him.

Jesus was no whimp!

He was no girly-man.

Jesus was the ultimate man, the ultimate hero!

Church Membership

As the years go by you see God's blessings in many different ways.

Sometimes God blesses your church by having some people desire to be members.

And at other times God also blesses your church by having some people NOT desire to be members.

If you have ever been in church leadership you are probably nodding your head and smiling as you read this.

You probably have pictures of both kinds of people in your head.
